TAUNTON DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL is in the process of appointing a development partner to deliver the regeneration of land at Firepool in Taunton as a vibrant mixed use quarter.

The Firepool area is on the northern edge of Taunton town centre, adjacent to the main line railway station. The area currently includes a high proportion of vacant or undeveloped land. A number of major sites benefit from river or canal frontages. Most of the area is classified as low quality space, with some notable exceptions. The area is highly accessible by road and rail.

The Council is promoting a sustainable, high quality, employment-led mixed use development. The scheme also offers the opportunity to secure the development of a substantial number of residential units. The regeneration of this part of Firepool will contribute towards meeting the objectives of the Vision for Taunton.
